I’m not local but was driving through and picked this place for lunch after searching Google for reviews. They have a larger menu than what is visible online! And HK French toast, yummy! The server was very friendly & the cafe was full of Cantonese speaking customers- a good sign in my book. I’ll definitely go back if I’m in the area again. I was really impressed with the egg fried rice too, much nicer than I’ve had anywhere else. I accidentally walked out without paying (long story- I’d had a stressful day & thought I paid up front!) but the staff were understanding & kind about it which I was grateful for. There is free parking for 2 hours just 1-2 minutes walk up the street which is very handy.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Good Old Days Hong Kong Ltd! From the moment we walked in, the lady taking our order was incredibly helpful and friendly. She not only made us feel welcome but also recommended the boneless deep-fried pork chop with chilli salt—an absolute game changer. The flavours were spot on, crispy yet tender, and packed with the perfect amount of spice. I ordered the mixed meat chow mein, and it was full of flavour with generous portions of meat. The egg fried rice was so fresh, you could taste the difference, and the beef in black bean sauce was rich and perfectly cooked. The sweet and sour chicken was just the right balance of tangy and crispy. Even the prawn crackers were freshly cooked—something I’ve never had before! We sat down to wait for our food, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. It’s clear they take pride in both their service and food quality. Will definitely be going back!

Heard this little place was legit. Most Chinese food I have tried in UK has been very disappointing, but the two dishes I tried today really delivered on flavour. The Chow Mein was simple with enjoyable wok hei. Could have had a few more veg but it was a lovely contrast to the cold and spicy Sichuan shredded chicken bowl. The chilli sauce on the finely shredded chicken added great ma la with the cooling julienned cucumber, and combined the two dishes were very satisfying. So far all I have seen is Chinese people eating here which is a telling sign! This is not your average UK Chinese takeaway; this is close to the real deal! Go be adventurous, the staff seems nice and are very helpful. UPDATE: went back for recommended Aubergine w/Salted Fish and a Special Fried Rice. Delicious!

A very nice place that serves very tasty food. I have been there twice, one time to take away and one time to have in. Both times were delicious. Highly recommended.

Authentic Hong Kong style Chinese food. The stir fried shrimp was fresh and flavorful. My favorites were the pork chop in mayonnaise and ho fun with slice beef. Super quick service and amazing food. Reasonable price with smaller portion sizes. Would recommend anyone who misses Hong Kong to try their food! Make sure to make a reservation for dine in since they only have a few tables.

We 3 people had a lunch in this restaurant today. We had Skewers with Satay Peanut Sauce, Stir Fried Vermicelli Singapore Style, Special Fried Rice, and Stir Fried Ho Fun with Sliced Beef. All good but I like the former two dishes more. Some said that the fried rice was tasteless but it’s acceptable for me. Some dishes served on other tables seem very nice but unfortunately we’re full after having the dishes we ordered. Will try when there is a chance in future. Anyway, the restaurant had a few tables. If you plan to dine in, it may be a good idea to reserve a table in advance and go earlier if possible.
